Safety
Rigorous inspections, a comprehensive training program and Bell Helicopter
School are an ongoing activity at Republic Helicopters. We are committed to
safety and training and our unblemished safety record demonstrates it. We have
had no accidents, no incidents and no violations or warnings and we are
committed to maintaining this level of professionalism.
Pilots
Republic Helicopters employs only the finest. Our pilots are certified aviation
professionals. Each pilot is either ATP rated (or working toward his ATP as it
is a condition of his employment) and each pilot is required to maintain
instrument currency and proficiency. Each year, the company sends all pilots
through manufacturer training. We feel that the benefits of factory training are
numerous. Operational standardization in procedures and methods of operation are
relevant to the overall safety and integrity of the operation.
Republic conducts in house emergency drills training and aeronautical decision
making classes annually.
Mechanics
Republic Helicopters has found the best that there is. Each of our mechanics is
a certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. Our Director of Maintenance holds
an Inspection Authorization Certification. Our mechanics each attend factory
school annually.
Communications
We are in constant communications with our helicopters when they are flying over
the Gulf of Mexico. We have a radio system with antennas on the top of
strategically located tower sites which are connected to our facility by
telephone or microwave. This enables our pilots operating over or in the
vicinity of the Gulf of Mexico to maintain constant radio contact with our
facility – for their safety as well as to facilitate our operation.
Further, each of our aircraft are equipped with a satellite tracking system so
that we can monitor their location.
We are also a licensed marine band base station. This allows us to keep in touch
with your vessels while in the Galveston lightering area (S. Sabine is too far
away). We also monitor the communications between the helicopter and your
vessel.
